The Smart Systems Laboratory (SSL) was established in 2022 as one of the research laboratories of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Institute of the University of the Philippines Diliman. The SSL recognizes that current and emerging systems are/will be “smart”: sensing their surroundings, operating autonomously, and collaborating with other systems. With this at the core, SSL provides an innovative environment for the design, research, and development of smart systems with focus on the areas of WSN, IoT, and cyberphysical systems; and the intersection of smart systems with these other research areas:
- Communication and computer networks
- AI and Machine learning
- Usable security and privacy
- Augmented reality
- Smart applications
